Law on interest write-off and tax debt standstill to be adopted by end-November?
Serbian Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic announced Monday that it was possible that the Law on the write-off of default interests and tax debt standstill would be adopted by the end of November.
Taxpayers will have to settle their current liabilities on a regular basis in order to be able to use these privileges, Dinkic told the press in Novi Sad after a conference on a reform of the Tax Administration of Serbia.
- I have a moral dilemma as to how to reward those paying their taxes regularly - Dinkic stressed and added that as soon as they found a solution to that issue, the Law on the write-off of default interests and tax debt standstill would be promulgated.
Dinkic announced that a reform of the Tax Administration in Serbia would be completed by end-2014.
According to him, the Tax Administration has an extremely bad information system, which is neither integral nor coordinated.
He added that he regretted not starting a reform of the Tax Administration of Serbia back in 2004, when he was the finance minister.
