USD 20 million investment in Banatski Karlovac - Alubond Europe opened factory for producing metal composite panels on November 8th

Alubond Europe, founded by Mulk Holding from the United Arab Emirates, opened a factory for producing metal composite panels in Banatski Karlovac on November 8th. As we learned, these composite panels will be marketed in Europe and Russia.

This company also plans to invest in a painting facility for sheet metals in the following period, which will increase the value of its investments in Serbia to USD 20 million, people at Alubond Europe say to eKapija.

The position of Banatski Karlovac, which is 60 kilometers away from Belgrade and about 40 km away from the Romanian border, was one of the reasons for Alubond Europe to buy 10 hectares of land in that town. Also, one of the reasons for Arabs to invest in our country and situate a headquarters for Europe and ex-Soviet Union countries here is Serbia's free trade agreement with Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

- Aside from commercial benefits, what helped us decide to invest in this town is the fact that it is one of the most underdeveloped places in Vojvodina, and Alubond is a socially responsible company. We've hired 70 workers at the factory in Banatski Karlovac, which will be making products for markets across Europe, Russia and ex-Soviet Union countries - Vera Lukic from Alubond Europe says in an interview with eKapija.

With a production facility located in Banatski Karlovac and existing production units in the United States of America, United Arab Emirates and India, Alubond annually produces over 15 million square meters of panels.

- Alubond produces metal composite panels in Serbia. They are usually made of aluminum, but the company also produces composite panels from stainless steel, zinc, anodized aluminum. The panel branded as Alubond U.S.A is, actually, a sandwich composite consisting of aluminum (or other metal) sheets covering the core. We produce two types of filling - light plastic (LDPE) and class B fireproof fillings. Panels with class A mineral non-flammable core are produced in Dubai. The upper, main sheet is painted and protected, which makes it resistant to all athmospheric effects and solar radiation. As a ready-made product, it is light, durable, perfectly flat, easy to process, and its characteristics make it ideal for use in covering facades. The possibility of fast processing on various machines provides designers with great opportunities for creating the most complex forms of facades, thus achieving a completely unique and authentic look of facilities – our interlocutor explains.

Sheet metal painting facility in 2013

Alubond also plans to build a 3,000 sqm painting facility for sheet metals on a land lot in Banatski Karlovac.

- In that facility, Alubond will be producing multi-layer paints for raw aluminum sheets, resistant to all atmospheric effects and solar radiation. These products will be used in the production of composite panels in our country, but they will also be marketed all around Europe, Russia and ex-Soviet Union countries.

The second factory will employ another 60 workers. Alubond announces to our web portal that the construction is due to start in spring 2013, whereas the factory should be opened until the end of 2013.

- Our cooperation with the municipal administration and government institutions is very good. We expect to receive incentives from the state for the second factory – says Vera Lukic from Alubond.

As it was announced, the automated line in Banatski Karlovac will be producing three million fireproof metal composite panels and ten thousand painted metal rolls per year.

Alubond at trade fairs around the world

Alubond is the only company from Serbia to participate, along with another 2,000 companies from all around the world, in the world's largest construction and architectural trade fair BAU 2013, which will be held in Munich between January 14 and 19.

- We believe that BAU 2013 in Munich is the world's largest construction trade fair and that our brand deserves a spot at that professional event. Also, we've applied for participation in trade fairs in Russia - YugBuild 2013 in Krasnodar and MosBuild 2013 in Moscow.
