Serbia to get about 1.2m USD worth of equipment and vehicles for urgent situations from America
United States of America will donate 1.2m USD worth of vehicles and means for intervention in urgent situations to Serbia.
US Ambassador to Serbia, Michael Polt, will officially hand the donation tomorrow (August 23, 2006) to Deputy PM of the Government of Serbia Ivana Dulić Marković and the Minister of Defense Zoranu Stankoviću.
The donation includes eight vehicles for urgent intervention, six generators, three trailers for water, mobile kitchen and other equipment.
These vehicles and equipment will make it possible for Serbia to establish new bases for civilian defense in Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad and Kragujevac and, thus, increase ability of reaction in the cases of urgent situations and natural hazards in the future.
