Smart-fork helps users eat slowly
French firm Slowcontrol was at CES 2013 in Las Vegas to present its HAPIfork smart-fork.
Following the success of the electronic cigarette, the humble fork is the latest everyday item to get smart. Made by French firm Slowcontrol, this fork aims to help its users eat more slowly.
The HAPIfork's handle is home to an electronic system that vibrates when you're eating too quickly. The vibrating fork therefore helps users slow things down, which the manufacturer claims can help encourage weight loss.
The fork can run for around two weeks before you need to recharge, based on use for three meals per day.
The HAPIfork is due to launch in the US for $99 and can be used in conjunction with an application for tracking and managing data relating to mealtimes.
