Energomontaza wins EUR 13.5 million contract - Belgrade-based company to build two long-distance power lines in Macedonia
Belgrade-based Energomontaza has won a contract in an international tender to build two long-distance power lines in Macedonia.
A EUR 13.5 million contract was signed last week in Skopje with MEPSO (Makedonski elektroprenosni sistem operator), Energomontaza said in a release.
A consortium comprising Energomontaza and Sweden's ELTEL signed a contract to design, deliver and build a 400kV long-distance power line from the Stip substation to the Serbian-Macedonian border, whereas another consortium consisting of Belgrade-based Montprojekt and Energomontaza signed a contract to design, deliver and build a 110kV long-distance power line on the route Skopje1-Jugohrom-Tetovo1, with both to be implemented as turnkey projects.
Considering that the World Bank stands behind this large investment, one of the largest investments in the power transmission system in the region, it is proved that successful Serbian companies, like Energomontaza, can partner up with EU companies to compete as equals and win contracts even in the strongest international competition, the release reads.
Energomontaza, member of the Kodar group, is a company specialized in the design and construction of long-distance power lines and substations at all voltages, telecommunication systems in fixed and mobile telephony, and the production of steel structures for the energy and telecommunications industries.
ELTEL, Energomontaza's partner in the consortium, is a multinational group headquartered in Finland.
