Is "WAZ" really interested in Novi Sad-based "Dnevnik holding"?

German newspaper concern "WAZ" is ready to enlarge its participation in the newspaper activities in Vojvodina, but it is not sure whether it will compete for the procurement of "Dnevnik holding", with which it founded joint venture "Vojvodina-press" few years ago.

That is the result of the talks between the members of that company and the President of the Executive Council of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, and Provincial Secretary for Information Milorad Đurić.

The delegation of German concern, which is the majority owner of "Politika" and Novi Sad-based "Dnevnik", was led by one of the owners Dr. Štefan Holthof Fertner. The general manager of the entire "Dnevnik holding" Savo Dobranić was present at the meeting.

Republic Privatization Agency decided that the Novi Sad newspaper-publishing company be privatized on the tender, which should be announced by the end of the year 2006.
