City of Zrenjanin gives up acquisition of brewery
The deadline to apply and submit documentation for the acquisition of the Zrenjanin brewery expires today, and although city officials announced before that the City of Zrenjanin was interested in making that purchase, that idea has been given up.
That issue was on the agenda for a session of the Zrenjanin City Assembly that was supposed to be held May 9th, but did not take place because Zrenjanin gave up the acquisition of brewery, said Assembly Speaker Radovan Bulajic.
As he noted, the intention was to hold a session of the City Assembly on May 9th in order for aldermen to make a decision to buy the equipment of Zrenjanin-based brewery at an auction scheduled for May 17th.
Bankruptcy manager of the Zrenjanin Beer Industry (ZIP), Dragan Bozic, scheduled an auction for May 17th to sell the remaining property of that brewery, which is the fourth attempt at selling that factory.
