Contract with the Chinese Shandong Hi-speed Group Co. on Corridor 11 highway construction signed - An investment totalling USD 334
On Friday (May 10, 2013), the Minister of Construction and Urban Planning in the Government of Serbia, Velimir Ilic and the manager of the public company Corridors of Serbia, Dimitar Djurovic, signed the contract with the Chinese Shandong Hi-speed Group Co. on the construction of the Corridor 11 highway, totaling 334 mil.
Deputy Director, Wei Zhu, representing Chinese Shandong Hi-speed Group Co signed the contract. The contract refers to the Ljig - Preljina section of 50 kilometers.
After the signing ceremony in the Government of Serbia, Minister Ilic said that this contract was developing since the new government was proclaimed, and almost all the ministries were engaged.
Ilic announced release of a tender for the concession for the construction of the Belgrade - Obrenovac and the construction of the Ljig - Preljina on Corridor 11. Works were estimated at about 600 mill. The route length is about 50 kilometers.
Ilic said that currently about 4,000 workers have been hired expected and it is expected that up to 10,000 workers are hired.
He also announced that in a month, a draft on concessions for building the Belgrade – Obrenovac section will be finalized.
Wei, with Chinese traditional attitude towards government officials said he hoped continued cooperation with Serbia, and that the company is particularly interested in the construction of section at the Belgrade-Obrenovac on Corridor 11.
Shandong is currently building 2,000 kilometer road in the world has offices and offices in more than 30 countries, Wei saif.
The signing was attended by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Serbia.
