Arriva is coming to Serbia and region - British company takes over Veolia Transport Central Europe

Veolia Transport Central Europe (VTCE) became a part of Arriva Group, after aquired by Deutsche Bahn, Arriva's mother company, it has been announced today.

This acquisition made Arriva the largest passenger traffic transporter in Mid and Eastern Europe.

The acquisition price has not been published yet and Arriva will thus expand its businesss activities at the existing markets of the Chez Republic, Poland, Slovenia and it is also entering new markets of Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia.

On behalf of Deutsche Bahn, Arriva is responsible for services of regional passenger tramnsport out of Germany. By taking over Veolia, Arriva is entering the railway traffic in the Chez Republic.

VTCE has been present at the bus passenger transport in Serbia, in Belgrade and it also provides regional and international charter transport in Pozarevac. In Slovenia, it operates in Ljubljana and Novo Mesto and in Croatia the company operates in servicing regional, interregional, international transport. VTCE realized an annual profit of EUR 252 mil in 2011.

VTCE has more than 6.300 employees and uses some 3.400 vehicles with 60 stations in six countries.

Arriva is present in 15 countries where it employs more 55.000 people. It is headquartered in Sanderland in Great Britain.
