Cornerstone for solar power plant in Beocin - Project worth EUR 1, 5 mil
The Minister of Energy, Zorana Mihajlovic, laid today in Beocin corner stone for the construction of solar power plant where EUR 1.5 mil will be invested.
The solar power plant capacity will be one megawatt, it is scheduled to be completed in three months and to begin operations in September.
Investor is the Slovak company, Prima Energy and the plant is situated at the location Tancos, occupying 2.5 hectares.
The Minister Mihajlovic pointed out that it was the investor who has references and experience, as which has already built a solar power plant in Slovakia.
- This is a sign that renewable energy sources will be utilized in Vojvodina and Serbia - Mihajlovic said, adding that the government supports the project and that it would be benefited electricity production.
She mentioned that there was the National Action Plan for Renewable Energy for renewable energy sources which implies certain percentage of the production of electricity from "green" energy that Serbia must meet by 2020.
