Kuwait Fund wants to fund development projects

The Serbian President, Tomislav Nikolic, met on 22 May with the regional director of the Kuwait Fund for Europe and Central Asia (KFAED) Yusuf Al Bader, who expressed interest of the fund to support several development projects in Serbia.

Bader said that KFAED ready to fund not only next phases of construction of Belgrade railway junction but also to pour funds in other development projects, primarily in the field of agriculture.


Nikolic thanked Bader for his wish to invest in Serbian agriculture because agriculture is our big chance and stressed that the friendship between Serbia and Kuwait is traditional and will never be broken, the press service of the President of Serbia announced.


- Our friends from Kuwait can contribute Serbia to finds its way out of the crisis - the president said, adding that there were many areas of interest for investment.


He expressed satisfaction for the loan to Serbia (Credit Agreement and the Safeguards Agreement were signed during the visit of the KFAED delegation in Belgrade December 10-11, 2012) and pointed out that Serbia is dedicated to further promote bilateral cooperation with Kuwait.


In an open and friendly conversation, Bader introduced President Nikolic with projects the fund is working on, the statement said.
