Germany gives Serbia EUR 2.2 million for EU accession talks - Project open until 2015
Germany will give Serbia EUR 2.2 million to assist the country in preparing for the EU accession talks in the fields of agriculture, economy, financial services and regional development in an efficient and professional manner, Tanjug news agency has reported.
The funds will be allocated through the project of technical cooperation dubbed Support for the European integration process in Serbia, and the related agreement was signed Wednesday at the government building by Director of the Serbian government's Office for European Integration Milan Pajevic and the leader of the project in Serbia Andrej Horvat, in the presence of German Ambassador to Serbia Heinz Wilhelm.
Topics covered by the project, which will last until 2015, include 15 of the 35 chapters of the EU acquis.
The Office for European Integration is the beneficiary, and its partners in the implementation of the project are Ministry of Finance and Economy and Ministry of Agriculture.
The project is conducted by the German Society for International Cooperation with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
