ContiTech Fluid ceremoniously opens factory in Subotica - Jobs for another 100 workers by end-2013

The ContiTech Fluid Serbia factory, one of the divisions of Germany's Continental group, was ceremoniously opened Saturday (1 June 2013) in Subotica, in the presence of Serbian Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic.

This investment is worth about EUR 10 million. The factory currently employs around 150 workers who assemble hose and pipe systems for transmissions and engines, and then deliver them to European car makers. Annually, this factory produces a total of 1.8 million units of about 80 different products. It is expected that the number of employees will grow to 250 by the year's end.

Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic voiced his expectation that Subotica would continue to set an example for other cities in Serbia on how to attract investment and cut unnecessary bureaucratic procedures.

Subotica Mayor Modest Dulic pointed out at the opening ceremony that this investment further added to the image of Subotica as a desirable destination for foreign capital.

ContiTech representatives stressed in their speeches that the need for a new factory had emerged as a reflection of higher demand for their products in the European market.

For that reason, over three years ago they started searching for a location for their new factory, and chose Subotica in the end.

President of the ContiTech Fluid Group, Matias Schunberg, particularly underlined the agility and openness of the local administration as well as the quality of company management and staff.
