Chips Way factory in Cacak ceremoniously opened - Another 14 people to get job by end-2013

A potato chips factory in Cacak, Chips Way, was ceremoniously opened Tuesday.

The opening ceremony was attended by Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic, who stressed that the food industry based on agriculture represented a great chance for Serbia.

Dinkic said he was satisfied with the fact that production had been started at that factory which the Serbian government had helped by granting an incentive of EUR 5,000 per each newly employed worker.

- The factory currently employs 66 people, and should hire another 14 workers by the year`s end - Dinkic announced.

The factory for producing potato chips was established in 1962 under the name of PIK Cacak, and was privatized in 2005, when it was bought by Slavisa Puric, a businessman from Belgrade. Five years later it went bankrupt, and was sold to a consortium of three persons for EUR 1 million last September.

According to a member of the consortium, Zarko Dragicevic, EUR 2 million have been invested in the factory over the last two months. He voiced his expectation that the factory would soon return to old markets.
