Fruit growers from Krupanj county will transfer to the modern technology in strawberries growth

The Director of the Organization for international help and development (IRD), Jessi Banch and the President of Krupanj county, Zoran Grujicic, will represent on Friday (October, 20th, 2006) a new project of introducing technology of vertical growth of strawberries in the closed estates.

The project is conducted by the Society of agricultural producers "Agro-strawberry" from Bela Crkva, as a part of a strategy of local economic development of Krupanj county.

The Society of agricultural producers from Krupanj recognized the need for strawberries production as a profitable species of fruit, with the use of new technologies of growing. Within this project, the Society has got 11 new modern closed estates, completley equipped for the vertical growth of strawberries. This new technology of growth will allow a high density of seedlings on less space, and it will also accelerate the time of ripeness and it will improve the quality.

The project has been conducted as a part of the economic program of Revitalization of community through democratic action (CRDA-E), which was helped by the American people through the Agency of USA for international development (USAID). The total value of the project is 121.385 USD, and out of it USAID invested 77.825 USD, and Krupanj county invested 43.560 USD.
