Summer on Kopaonik to see at least 50.000 overnight stays

On Friday, June 21, 2013, the public company Serbia Skijalista Srbije held a promotion of the Kopaonik Open Summer Tour, which comprises sports-recreational activities within the summer offer at the mountain and announced a 30% price decrease for all activities and facilities compared to the last year’s offer.

During July 5-7, Kopaonik will host a three-day summer programme with a number of recreational activities for a local and a foreign guest. Apart from riding, mountain biking, walking tours, paragliding, all-terrain vehicle ride, guests who visit Kopaonik this year will feel the magic of alpinism, said Nikola Avram, manager of the MK Mountain Resort, to the agency. He added that they were expecting some 50.000 overnight stays at the Kopaonik this year and that the summer holiday in the mountains is the best solution to get away from the city heat. Kopanik Open Summer Tour (July 5-7, 2013) aims at, apart from other things, to offer its guests an active mountain holiday and to point out beauties of the National Park Kopaonik.

Taking into consideration current financial crisis and decrease payment power of citizens, the acting manager of Skijalista Srbije, Dejan Ljevnaic pointed out that activities at the Kopaonik are first of all designed for families and announced that during the summer, prices of tourist services will be 30% lower than last year.

Thus, panorama ride by cable care costs 340 dinars for adults while there is a 30% discount for one child Ljevnaic said.

- We realized that people, apart from their coming during the winter, like to visit mountain during the summer as well and therefore we decided to enable some preconditions so that they would come – he said reminding that last year it started with the installation of bike cable cars adapters, construction of cycling paths and walking paths which contributed to the fact thatlast summer some 9000 visitors used these activities.

During august this year, Skijalista Srbije are planning to build and open some additional facilities such as children’s fun park, Ljevnaic said, adding that this year’s slogan at the Kopaonik, "Far away from the city heat", aims at showing summer activities in the mountain as well, not only the winter ones.

During the summer season, Kopaonik will host an organized panorama sightseeing by cable car, walking tours, mountain biking, shooting, canyoning, rafting, carting rides,etc. - Skijalista Srbije announced.
