Italy's Dalla Valentina to invest EUR 5 million in cheese factory in Jagodina
Dalla Valentina from Verona, which annually processes 73,000 tonnes of milk, is going to invest EUR 5 million in a factory for processing milk producing cheese in Jagodina, the owner of this Italian company, Ezio Valentina, said Wednesday (3 July 2013).
This company owns one of the largest cheese factories in Italy, where 2,600kg of cheese are produced on a daily basis. They made a decision to build a factory in Jagodina few months ago, and confirmed it during the visit of Serbian farmers to Verona in mid-May.
Jagodina Mayor Dragan Markovic-Palma stressed that "this is not the only Italian investor that wants to build a factory in Jagodina as three agreements to build a production plant in our town were already signed before, which makes Dalla Valentina the fourth such investor."
- Another two investors from Italy are coming to our town within the next few days, and we already agreed with them, in principle, to sign a cooperation agreement - said Markovic.
He assessed that the Dalla Valentina factory in Jagodina would benefit people living in that municipality as well as farmers in another 15 municipalities.
Among other things, Dalla Valentina produces the famous cow cheese Monte Veronese.
