Jat Airways and Air Berlin contract on mutual flights as of August 1
Serbian airline, Jat Airways, has announced today it signed an agreement on mutual flights with German Air Berlin, where Etihad has an ownership stake.
As said in the announcement, that code share contract will be effective as of August 1.
Air Berlin will have in its offer Jat Airways flights between Belgrade and Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Stuttgart.
Passengers of Jat Airways will have connections from Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Stuttgart for numerous local flights of Air Berlin in Germany while from the Berlin-based headquarters, mutual flights to destinations in north Europe, such as Copenhagen, Oslo or Stockholm, will operate.
- Code share contract with Jat Airways fits into the Air Berlin strategy directed towards network strengthening - General Manager of Air Berlin, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said and added that through cooperation with Jat, presence at the growing east European market will be expanded.
The acting director of Jat Airways, Velibor Vukasinovic said that through the contract on mutual lines, Air Berlin will present to Serbian market for the first time.
- This cooperation is especially important for Serbia because German market is one of our most significant markets due to a number of people who live there - Vukašinovic pointed out.
