Cooper Standard to lay foundation stone for factory in Sremska Mitrovica on July 31st - US company to invest EUR 35 million
The US company Cooper Standard will tomorrow lay the foundation stone for a factory for producing gaskets for the automotive industry in Sremska Mitrovica in which EUR 35 million will be invested.
The mayor of Sremska Mitrovica and the Cooper Standard company said in a release that one of the world's largest manufacturer of car parts would build 18,000 square meters of office and production space in Sremska Mitrovica by the year's end.
Cooper Standard's factory in Sremska Mitrovica will hire about 600 workers after they complete a training at the factories of that company in Poland and France.
The Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) will back this project with EUR 8,000 per employee because that factory will supply products to the Kragujevac-based Fiat Automobili Srbija as well as export them to other large car makers worldwide.
The next phase will see the development of another 10,000 square meters of space to allow for production expansion and new jobs, the release signed by Sremska Mitrovica Mayor Branislav Nedimovic reads.
An agreement on the purchase of building land and the construction of aforementioned factory was signed three months ago between Cooper Standard Europe Vice President Rober Kening and Sremska Mitrovica Mayor Branislav Nedimovic.
Sremska Mitrovica has sold a 6.3 hectare land lot in Sever Industrial Zone to Cooper Standard for RSD 45 million.
