PET recycling plant Alwag in Gajdobra Industrial Zone near Backa Palanka has begun trial production and staff training in order to start operating at full capacity in the nearest future, Alwag CEO Stojan Dangubic said in an interview with the weekly newspaper Backopalanacki Nedeljnik.

Alwag's majority owner is Aling Conel, a family company holding a 90 percent stake, while 10 percent of the shares are held by an Austrian partner.

Dangubic noted that the recycling plant was fit-out with state-of-the-arts equipment for the highest level of treatment.

Alwag's annual capacity is at 15,000 tonnes of waste PET packaging.

This project has cost Alwag over EUR 6 million, the text published in Backopalanacki Nedeljnik reads.

The entire technology for this plant in Gajdobra was imported from Germany, whereas raw materials are supplied by various companies across Serbia.

Aling Conel is a family firm of the Dangubics from Gajdobra, who are engaged in the manufacture of electrical installation materials and equipment. The company was established back in 1984.
