The Serbian Government has passed all the documents needed for negotiation with the EU
At its session on 23 September, the Government of Serbia passed all the documents needed to establish the structures for negotiating Serbia`s accession to the EU.
According to their web-site, the government adopted an analysis of the activities in the negotiation process and established the basis for negotiations and for concluding the contract for Serbia`s accession. At the same session a coordinating body for EU accession was also established, headed by Prime Minister Ivica Dacic.
With this, the last formal conditions were fulfilled before tomorrow’s first meeting on negotiations in the EU, says today`s edition of Blic.
In Brussels the process of screening begins tomorrow. This is an analytical review of European legislation in the area of justice, the fight against corruption and fundamental rights that constitutes Chapter 23, and with which Serbian legislation must be aligned. The screening process will last 18 to 21 months and is required before membership negotiations can start
