Nova Sloga expands capacity of Mivela water factory - EUR 3 million investment and new jobs announced

Nova Sloga from Trstenik, the company engaged in the production, processing and sale of agricultural products that owns Mivela water factory, is going to invest about EUR 3 million in the expansion of that factory's production capacity.

As Trstenik Mayor Miroslav Aleksic specified, Croatia's Agrokor, which has privatized Nova Sloga, is going to boost the capacity of the water factory and, thus, fulfill its contractual obligation. He also stressed that new jobs would be created in that way.

He, however, pointed to problems between the investor and the Tax Administration in that municipality.

- When converting agricultural land to building land, a commission of the Tax Administration office in Trstenik appraised the value of that land to be ten times higher than its real market value, which is outrageous - Aleksic told Tanjug news agency.

He added that he would ask Ivan Simic, the director of the Tax Administration of Serbia, to commit to solving that problem.

Aleksic stressed that Nova Sloga was indirectly helping agricultural manufacturers in that municipality by purchasing thousands of tonnes of fruits and vegetables from them ever year.

The media previously reported that Frikom had acquired 70 percent of Trstenik-based Nova Sloga for EUR 4 million in 2008, promising to invest about EUR 11 million in it.
