SIMIC: No proposals from large tax debtors
Ivan Simic, director of the Tax Administration of Serbia, said Thursday that it was up to company owners to solve the problem of their outstanding tax debts, adding that none of the large tax debtors had given a proposal on how to repay that debt to date.
He reiterated that all those who did not pay their taxes would have their accounts blocked until they paid the debt.
Simic stressed that all companies that did not pay taxes posed an unfair competition to all those that were paying their taxes on a regular basis.
He announced that the reorganization of tax offices would be completed by the year's end, adding that their number would thus be reduced from 58 to 25 or 26.
Simic also said that online fiscal cash registers would be introduced in March or April 2014, which would make it easy to know at any moment which companies were issuing fiscal receipts.
