A total of 33 foreign airlines will operate flights from Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade to over 40 destinations in Europe, Africa and the Near East in the winter 2013/2014, the Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia announced in a release after giving them the green light. The winter timetable will be in effect in the period between October 27 and March 29, 2014.

According to the release, the list of foreign companies is not final yet because few more airlines interested in Serbia's air transportation market are expected to submit their requests.

When compared to previous winter timetables, a bigger number of foreign airlines expressed interest in participating in Serbia's air transportation market this year. Also, the airlines that have been operating flights from Belgrade for a long time now, such as Aeroflot, Turkish Airlines and Etihad Airways, have significantly increased the volume of their traffic, the Directorate said in the release.
