Government considers having Telekom go public

Serbian Economy Ministry is considering a possibility of offering the shares of Telekom Srbija, which is majority owned by the state, on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, said Aleksandar Stevanovic, adviser to the economy minister.

- If we are to sell Telekom Srbija, an option to do this is through the initial issue of shares, which would also help the local financial market - he told the 12the international conference of the Belgrade Stock Exchange.

He added that that would also give "a strong impulse to stock exchange trading."
