Pellet production in Medvedja to start in mid-January 2014 - Jablanica Eko factory to hire 40 workers

The Medvedja municipality has established a company for producing pellets called Jablanica Eko, which should hire 40 workers by early next year. Part of the equipment provided by donors from Slovenia has already been installed in the facility of the failed company Termovent, it was announced on the municipal website.
When they started implementing the project aimed at restarting the production at a deserted factory few years ago, people at the local self-government knew exactly what they want. Now Medvedja is the first municipality in Serbia to become the 100% owner of a joint-stock company with limited liability. The factory is already registered with the BRA, the equipment from Slovenia is delivered and will be installed by the year's end, it was announced.

- Minimum 40 people from Medvedja will get a job here - Mayor Slobodan Draskovic said and added that the municipality was ready for a public private partnership and that it set example for other local self-governments in Serbia.

The commissioning of this factory has recently been the subject of an article on eKapija. As the local self-government announced on that occasion, it is expected that a strategic partner will recapitalize this company later on.

The Jablanica Eko factory will be producing one tonne of pellets per hour. The demand for this product is huge, and it already started receiving queries from interested buyers from the European Union.

This whole project is valued at about EUR 1 million. Pellet production in the Jablanica Eko factory will begin in mid-Jannuary, it was announced on the municipal website.
