EUR 2.5 billion invested in Serbia by Greek companies

Greek companies have so far invested EUR 2.5 billion in Serbia, First Secretary of the Greek embassy to Serbia Jorgos Hadzipetros said Thursday (28 November 2013).

At a meeting between Jagodina's businessmen and a delegation of the Greek region of Pieri, he said that 250 Greek companies employing about 25,000 people were operating in Serbia.

Hadzipetros added that Greek investments had been reduced in the past few years due to the economic crisis that had hit that country.

A delegation of 50 Greek businessmen from the Pieri Region is on a three-day visit to Jagodina, where they had a meeting with local businessmen and visited the local industrial zone and tourist sights n Thursday.

The meeting in Jagodina was attended by the directors of Fabrika Kablova and Jagodinska Pivara as well as by the owners of several companies from Jagodina that are engaged in the production of cable equipment, furniture, aluminum carpentry and meat products.
