The Zrenjanin City Assembly yesterday adopted a study on the feasibility of free-of-charge alienation of 5.6 hectares of state-owned building land in Jugoistok Industrial Zone to the US company Luvata (Luvata Heat Transfer Solutions).

As it was said, Zrenjanin's public prosecutor is going to submit the study to the Serbian government and request from them to ok it, after which it will be possible to sign a land alienation agreement.

It is said in a letter of intent that the plan is to invest about EUR 4.9 million in the first phase in production facilities, including equipment and infrastructure, and another EUR 19 million in the second phase.

Deputy Mayor Ivan Devic pointed out that Luvata planned to start the production of heat exchangers as well as hire 65 workers during the first year of production. This company is expected to employ 200 workers in Zrenjanin by the end of the third year of operations and additional 500 people after the investment is fully implemented.

Luvata is a member of the Luvata Group, a global industrial company with about 6,400 employees and 35 factories in 17 countries.
