Henkel invests EUR 30 million in new production plant in Krusevac
Henkel is going to invest EUR 30 million in its new factory in Krusevac where production should commence in the second half of 2014, Henkel Serbia President Christoph Till announced Wednesday.
He told a press conference that that project was of great importance not only for Henkel, but also for the local community.
- Investment in the new project totals EUR 30 million. With the commissioning of the new production line, up to 100 people will get a job at our factory in Krusevac - Till said and added that the new plant would be producing an "innovative home cleaning product," but he did not specify exactly which one.

Felix Sobotka, the director of the production plant in Krusevac, added that the Krusevac-based factory was of strategic and global importance for the Henkel company and one of the world's best factories for producing detergents and home cleaning products.
- We currently supply products from Serbia to 19 markets across Europe. Opening of this new plant will additionally boost our export capacity and increase the significance of our factory in the global production network. Henkel's plant in Krusevac was the first factory to obtain an ISO energy efficency certificate - said Sobotka.
Henkel is present in Serbia since 2002 when Merima Krusevac was privatized. During the first ten years, this company invested in excess of EUR 130 million in Serbia. Today, Henkel Serbia successfully operates in three locations: Belgrade, Krusevac and Indjija, supplies products to over 55m consumers in the region and exports its brands from Serbian factories to 19 regional and EU markets.
