Czechs interested in building Stavalj Thermal Power Station and investing in namesake mine
Serbian Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic and Czech Deputy Prime Minister Martin Pecina have talked in Belgrade about cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.
- The main topic of the meeting with the Czech delegation led by Pecina was the construction of Stavalj Thermal Power Station and investment in the namesake mine in the Sjenica municipality - Serbia's Energy Ministry said in a release.
As it was stressed, both sides described that project as cost-effective and agreed to talk about possible models of funding the next time they meet to discuss technical aspects of the project.
Czech Deputy PM Martin Pecina said that Czech companies had cutting-edge technology and vast experience in the construction of power generation plants, underlining the readiness of their side to resume talks.
Mihajlovic pointed out that the implementation of this and other top priority projects would significantly contribute to increasing the employment rate in Serbia.
