Construction of Rumska Petlja work zone kicks off

Construction of the work zone Rumska Petlja (the Ruma Interchange) that will cover an area of 238 hectares commenced Friday (24 January 2014), the Capital Investment Fund of Vojvodina said in a release.

Contractors are Sid Projekt and Jugokop Podrinje, it was announced.
The ceremony marking the commencement of works was attended by Acting Director of the Capital Investment Fund Nebojsa Milenkovic, Ruma Mayor Dragan Panic and Director of the Ruma Construction Construction Directorate Vladislava Stamenovic.

The first phase of works will see the construction of roads 2,065 meters long, storm sewer on both sides of the roads (3,980 meters), part of the water supply system (1,484 meters) and part of sewerage (1,277 meters).

The future work zone is situated between Corridor X and the main route M-21, and it is expected to be attractive to investors because of the proximity of the Sava River as an international waterway.
