Italy's Nice factory gives up production facility in Cacak
Italian company Nice which earlier announced it would open a production facility in Cacak and hire about 200 people from that town on the Morava River has given up this intention. The reason lies in the fact that the Constitutional Court has made a decision to put the land ownership conversion process on hold until the new Law on Planning and Development, the future Law on Spatial Planning and Development, is adopted.
As explained by Slobodan Vasilijevic, the owner of Cacak-based Slovas that is a business partner of the Italian company, they have already shipped all their equipment to Cacak. Their plan was to hire 200 people and generate a turnover of 30 million euros in the first year, 55 million in the second year, and 120 million in the third business year.
- There is still a chance to keep the Italian partner in Serbia. Cacak was our first choice, and now we negotiate another option, that is, construction of the production facility on a Belgrade-based land lot owned by Slovas - said Vasilijevic.
