Tools for global automotive industry - Slovenia's Gorenje starts production in Kragujevac
Gorenje has launched production in Kragujevac after buying a part of the property of Slovenian company Unior Forming Tours that bought Zastava Alatnica in 2005 and then established its own factory for producing forming and other tools.
According to the daily Danas, Gorenje will be producing tools for world's top car makers, such as BMW, Mercedes and others, at its new factory in Kragujevac. The company also plans to establish cooperation with Fiat. By the way, cooperation with Gorenje in Kragujevac has been going on for years becauze Zastava's former factory 21. oktobar produces parts for refrigerators, freezers and other household appliances made by Gorenje.
People at 21. oktobar plan to produce up to 11 million parts for Gorenje household appliances this year. The management of 21. oktobar told Danas that they were going to expand their cooperation with Gorenje in line with the production growth at that company's factories in Serbia, that is, in Valjevo and Zajecar.
