Glass factory in Paracin puts new furnace in operation - Investment of about EUR 20 million
Srpska fabrika stakla (Serbian glass factory) in Paracin will commission a new furnace with four bottle and jar production lines worth over EUR 20 million at a ceremony on Monday (10 February 2014), it was said in a release by the Office of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic who is going to attend that ceremony.
The capacity of this new furnace L5 is 230 tonnes a day. With four production lines, it will ensure the production of 180 million bottles and jars a year.
With this new investment, the total value of investments made in the last 20 months by the new owner of this glass factory, the international consortium Glass Industry, has exceeded EUR 105 million, the release reads.
It is also said in the release that the investment in the new L5 line will make the products of Srpska fabrika stakla competitive in the regional market and beyond and allow for greater business efficiency, higher quality of products and lower production costs, while also creating conditions to apply and certify to ISO and HACCP standards.
Srpska fabrika stakla in Paracin is the only factory for producing packaging glass in the territory of Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia.
