Refrigerators from Valjevo in China - Gorenje boosts exports by conquering new markets
The Gorenje factory for producing cooling appliances in Valjevo has boosted exports by conquering new markets, the local media have reported.
Mirko Meza, the CEO of the Gorenje subsidiary in Valjevo, said that refrigerators and freezers were exported to countries across Europe, North and South America, North Africa, Near East, Far East, and China.
As he added, the factory in Valjevo also produces Panasonic appliances on the basis of strategic partnership with that world-renowned company, which also led to the commencement of the production of new generation of cooling appliances that consume less energy.
Gorenje has two factories in Valjevo employing between 1,300 and 1,500 workers. The new factory has produced 690,000 appliances since 1 February 2013, 80 percent of which was intended for export.
By the way, Gorenje produces cooling appliances only in Valjevo, which has contributed to the expansion of cooperative network that is now four times bigger, so the companies working with the Slovenian giant currently employ about 800 workers.
