"Zastava Arms" to start production of stainless steel carbines
In cooperation with American "Remington", "Zastava Arms" will start production of hunting carbines (by "muser" system) of stainless steel in mid-2007.
Kragujevac-based factory estimates that that will be one of the first world arms manufacturing companies that will be producing that type of carbines. The production, according to the words of the Manager of "Zastava Arms", Dragoljub Grujović, should commence on July 1, which will be followed by the delivery to the U.S. market.
- In order to meet the agreement we have with "Remington", which stipulates that the production of carbines of stainless steel in our factory commences on July 1, it is necessary that few hundreds of thousands of euros be invested in the modernization of units for surface and thermal processing until that time - says Grujović.
He pointed out that the Kragujevac factory expected financial support from the State for both realization of this investment project and continuation of the restructuring and consolidation process in the company.
