Everrest production wants more land in Ruma – Danish-Chinese company wants to boost memory foam production capacity
The company is a merge of the Chinese capital and Danish technology for memory foam production for pillows and mattresses. Construction of the plant in Ruma is about to start but the investors have already assessed that they could use more space.
In Ruma-based industrial zone, these investors have been provided with a total of 5.6 ha of land. They got it without a fee because they will hire 225 people. But it appears they do not find it sufficient. Dragan Panic, the president of the Ruma municipality, mentions that investors came to the municipality asking about additional land in order to increase the capacity of the future plant.
The investors would anyhow have to buy a new lot because 5.6 ha has already been approved on the basis of the municipal elaborate that was also approved by the Government of Serbia. If they buy land, it will be important for the budget of the Ruma municipality.
- Additional 20 people or so would be hired, which is 250 in total or maybe even more later - Sremska televizija cited Dragan Panic as saying.
Production of memory foam for pillows and mattresses is environment-friendly, and the plant will procure raw materials at the domestic market. The entire production is planned for the foreign market (Europe, Russia and the northern part of Africa).
