Holcim and Lafarge to merge - Resulting company to generate annual revenue of about EUR 32 billion
Swiss cement and building materials manufacturer Holcim and French producer Lafarge have unveiled their plans to merge into a company that is expected to generate annual revenues of EUR 32 billion.
These two companies today submitted their draft agreement on the merger of equals.
Wolfgang Reitzle will be chairman of the new merged entity while Lafarge's current chief Bruno Lafont will become its chief executive. Each side will have seven members in the managing board of the future company.
The merger agreement is expected to be signed in the first half of this year, provided it is approved by authorities.
In Serbia, Lafarge owns the cement plant in Beocin, while Holcim operates Popovac-based cement factory.
