NIS acquires RSD 150 million "supercomputer" to process seismic data
The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) has acquired a new equipment for processing seismic data to use it at its Science and Technology Center. A "supercomputer" this oil company bought for about RSD 150 million is made by the IBM company and will be used to process large amounts of data in real time.
This will significantly increase the effectiveness of the work process as the data processing time is twice shorter and the picture of surveyed area is of much higher quality.
- The unique computer system for seismic data processing in Serbia represents the application of computer technologies of the latest generation - said people at the NIS Science and Technology Center.
