Lenada doubles fruit purchasing capacity - Pirot-based company announces jam production
Pirot-based cold storage plant Lenada is going to double its capacity for purchasing fruits this season, so it is expected that instead of last year's 4,000 tons of fruits, Lenada will export a record quantity of 8,000 tons of fruits to the EU and Japan this year, Vladica Krsmanovic, the director of this cold storage plant, told Tanjug news agency.
According to Krsmanovic, an investment of over 1 million euro has enabled aforementioned increase in Lenada's capacity for purchasing and processing fruits.
- We've got a modern system for pitting fruits and their deep-freezing, and there are also some novelties in so-called "hot range" as we're going to start producing jams this season, given that we have both new dryer and complete jam production line. The equipment we received is among the most modern ones in Europe, and it was presented at the latest specialized fairs for that type of equipment - said Krsmanovic.
The cold storage plant in Pirot exports its entire production to the EU and the extremely demanding market of Japan.
