Apple has decided to build a hydroelectric plant to power its data center in Oregon.
The company's original idea was to power its server centers with electricity from renewables, but they failed to find a suitable location in Oregon for a solar power plant. Therefore, they found a project whose implementation was discontinued three years earlier and decided to bring it to life.
This power plant should be finished within the next few months, but it will generate only 10 percent of electricity Apple's data center in Oregon requires. Its total capacity will be at about 4 MW. There is no information on the cost of this project.
