Click away from energy passports - Central registry of energy features of buildings available to public as of September
Information on all energy passports issued, data about the engineers licensed to make energy passports and companies authorized to issue them, the latest news about energy efficiency and much more will be available to government bodies, experts and ordinary people through the Central Registry of Energy Passports (CREP). This unique database of energy features of buildings in Serbia was ceremoniously unveiled May 13 at the Belgrade Fair.
As it was said at a recent event of the Serbian Chamber of Engineers, which was organized as part of the International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements, thanks to the Central Registry of Energy Passports, Serbia is among the first countries in Europe to establish such a database in a bid to improve energy efficiency.
The project Data Management System - Central Registry of Energy Passports was launched by the Ministry of Construction with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). Its author is Belgrade-based Belit.

- Our task is to develop an information system and execute its implementation. The objective was to make a comprehensive Data Management System featuring the Central Registry of Energy Passports, and further plans are now being made within the system to be fulfilled in the years to come - Djordje Lazic, the project manager at Belit, says in a talk with eKapija.
As Lazic told us, this information system will be used by the Ministry of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Mining and Energy, the engineers licensed to make energy passports and the companies issuing them, and it will also be placed at the disposal of all citizens of Serbia.
- The information system itself plays several roles. Ministries will have a tool for preparing a comprehensive report based on which they will be able to make further plans. A complete tool for maing energy passports will be available to engineers. Also, there is a public section of the Central Registry, making it possible for all citizens to follow the news and events related to energy efficiency, browse the registry of licensed engineers and the registry of licensed companies - Lazic explains.
He says that everybody will be able to search the primary database, that is, the central registry of the energy passports issued.

Our interlocutor points out that licensed engineers and companies will be able to view the Registry, test all its features and share their impressions by September, so the system could be additionally improved and upgraded.
Budget fund for energy efficiency
We've asked the representatives of the competent ministry how far they've gone with the introduction of the budget fund for energy efficiency which was announced early this year.
- A total of 88 different subjects answered our public call for local self-governments and we expect to sign agreements on these projects soon. During the term of the previous government, the plan was to also issue a public notice for banks and, thus, facilitate the approval of favorable loans for energy efficiency to common people, but this probably won't happen before the budget revision - Antonela Solujic explained.
