The Arab pharmaceutical company Julphar and Ukraine's Arterium are interested in strategic partnership with Galenika, the daily Blic writes.

This newspaper reports that people at Galenika have confirmed that they had two meetings with Julphar officials and that the talks with the Arterium company had started a long time ago.

Julphar from Abu Dhabi is interested in producing insulin in Zemun.

According to Blic, this Arab pharmaceutical plant is a leading insulin manufacturer in northern Africa and Asia, and its arrival in Serbia would be the first step in the company's penetration of the European market.

Julphar was established in 1980 and is a part of the pharmaceutical group Gulf from the Emirates.

Ukraine's pharmaceutical company Arterium, the Ukrainian national leader in the production of antibiotics and a significant manufacturer of herbal drugs, is also interested in building a production facility for infusion solutions and natural drugs in cooperation with Galenika. This company has 1,000 employees and produces 140 different drugs.

Galenika is the only state-owned pharmaceutical company in Serbia. Over the last four years, this plant has accumulated losses of about RSD 25 billion.
