Microsoft and Salesforce ink cooperation agreement
Long-time rivals, Microsoft and Salesforce.com, have inked a cooperation agreement that will make it easier for the users of Microsoft Windows and Windows Phone operating systems and Office 365 to connect with Salesforce customer relationship management applications and platforms Microsoft has pointed out in a release that it will contribute both money and people to this cooperation, adding that trial versions of Windows and Windows Phone 8.1 products should be available as early as this autumn, while the final versions should hit the stores next year.
Salesforce will develop an app for integration with Outlook which connects Salesforce data with Excel and Microsoft Power BI for Office 365. Connecting Salesforce with Office 365 will allow the users to collaborate, access, share and organize Salesforce data using Office Mobile, Office for iPad and Office 365.
Financial and other details of this deal have not been disclosed yet.
