German RWE to buy EPS?

German RWE, one of the leading European electricity producers shows interest in acquiring the Electric Power Industry of Serbia, EPS.

The company is ready to set aside a few billion euros, Kurir reports today.

This way, Serbia would provide energy security because RWE would make our energy system a part f the energy system of Europe, the daily reports, without stating its source.

The Minister of Energy, Aleksandar Antic, said for Kurir, that the partnership with RWE would provide Serbia new technologies and an entire set of things essential for us so that we could say we have a secure energy system.

According to Antic, although the restructuring of EPS is fast, it takes many steps for EPS to come to the position to look for a strategic partner, Kurir reports.
