American ''Freeport McMoran'' ready to employ 1,000 workers in a new mine in Bor

- During the talks with ``Freeport`` representatives it was said that they plan to commence preparation for digging site construction, which is the first step towards mine opening, said Zivorad Petrovic, president of Bor municipality.

Dusan Markovic, president of Bor Municipal Assembly , said that one profitable worker in a mine makes four or five more vacancies in related activities.

- If a new mine was opened, we would solve the problem of unemployment in Bor. Consequently, 6,000 people, recorded at the National Employment Service so far, would be employed.

``Freeport McMoran`` announced its investments of USD 5 billion in the new mine of copper and gold in Bor but only if the future geology research results prove previous knowledge.
