One, but valuable, location for investments in Beočin!

Overview

The municipality of Beočin is located on the northern slopes of the Mount Fruška Gora, 2 km from the river Danube. It includes the following settlements: Beočin, Banoštor, Grabovo, Rakovac, Lug, Sviloš, Susek, and Čerević. The municipality of Beočin covers the area of 186 km². Distance from Belgrade Airport is 70 km and from Novi Sad 17 km.

Population

The municipality of Beočin has a population of 16,275 (55% Serbs; 16% Croats; 7% Hungarians; 5% Albanians; 2.5% Slovenians and 2% Slovaks). Most of the 10,997 people of working age are employed in Novi Sad, with 2,808 unemployed persons.

Economy

Large part of Beočin economy is based on cement production and strengthening of the Cement Works. Besides, municipal authorities are trying to utilize extraordinary natural resources and favourable strategic position for the development of small and medium enterprises in the sectors of tourism, agriculture, trade and crafts, as well as in service industry. World leader in construction materials, “Lafarge”, has a cement production plant in Beočin.

Infrastructure

Being only 2 km away from the river Danube, the Municipality of Beočin has an easy and quick access to one of the most important European communication routes – Corridor 6. The proximity of Novi Sad and the E 75 motorway are in the vicinity of the municipality. The area has a good transport network.

Tourism

Just outside Beočin there is the Beočin monastery (one of the Fruška Gora monasteries), which flourished in 17th and 18th centuries. Many historical monuments in this area have been preserved. This part of Mount Fruška Gora is well-known for its hunting and fishing grounds, especially in Susek. Due to all said, Beočin offers excellent hiking opportunities.
