Serbia avoided “red flag” when it comes to meat export to Russia, Rasim Ljajic, the minister of trade says for RTS.

Upon his appearance at Dnevnik RTS, the minister Ljajic said that it is more “stupid action” of one of our exporters than the intention to trick somebody but that, regardless of that, the consequences are serious. The research will show whether repacking of meat exported from third countries was the case here.

Ljajic pointed out that Russian side had understanding for us although there were grounds to an export to Russia.

Ljajic explained that Russia did not claim meat with worms is coming from Serbia as some media reported.

Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture outlined that systematic obstacles do not exist but that control will have to become more severe.
