Municipality of Užice obtained Office for local economic development
On Friday (February 23, 2007), in the building of Town Hall of Užice, the Office for local economic development was opened with the financial support from the American Agency for International Development (USAID).
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Manager of the Organization for International Aid and Development, Steven Rozenberg, and the representative of the Program for Stimulation of Economic Development of Municipalities, Jessy Bunch.
Thanking for the help of American people, the Mayor of Užice, Tihomir Petković, said that the newly opened office would be in the function of improvement of investment potentials and entrepreneurial spirit in that region.
Rozenberg pointed out that, in spite of the fact that Užice has economic resources at its disposal, the investments in human resources were required. The role of the Office for local economic development, in addition to that task, is to attract potential investors and to enable creation of new jobs.
