Gazprom's subsidiary Centrogas builds South Stream in Serbia?
The winner of the tender for South Stream construction in Serbia could be Gazprom's subsidiary Centrogas, the Russian daily Vjedomosti announced Thursday, citing two bidders.
As one of them explained, the decision has already been made, but it will be officially announced in few days, after all techicalities are done. Besides, as the other interlocutor of Vjedomosti said, Centrogas will also be involved in the construction of the Bulgarian arm of this gas pipeline. In what way, he did not say. One of the options is to repeat the tender, this interlocutor added.
In late April, the South stream Bulgaria company announced that the best bid for the design, delivery of equipment and materials, construction and assembly works, and commissioning of the South Stream main route in Bulgaria had been submitted by Strojtransgas konzorcijum, a joint venture of Russia's Strojtransgas and Bulgaria's Gasprojekt Jug.
Forbs wrote last week that Centrogas could replace Strojtransgas as the contractor of the Bulgarian part of the gas pipeline.
